I was a Licensed practical nurse for nine years, working in different health care settings including Long term care as well as Home care. My experience as an LPN laid a solid foundation for my nursing career.
After working as an LPN for these number of years, I went back to school and got my Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Salem State University. Having my Bachelor's degree created another avenue to further my studies.
I had always wanted to be a Nurse Practitioner and immediately after I had my bachelor’s degree, I felt it was time for me to start my NP program. As soon as I started the NP program, I started realizing how close I was to achieving my dream. The culmination of my classroom and clinical experience as an NP student is something I will never forget. The more I advanced into the program, the more I realized that being a nurse practitioner is what I truly want to be. Throughout the entire program, I was working full time as an RN in Home care.
I am also a registered reggae musician. As a student, working full time, and taking care of my three lovely children, I was also able to find time to go to the recording studio and record my music. During the course of the program, I was able to record two music videos which did well on the music market.
I Can't wait to start living my dream life as a Nurse Practitioner.
